Venice training combines strategic approach with practical insights
The fourth training course for public procurers organised by Ecosistemi in Italy was held in Venice. It was hosted by new Associate partner Region Veneto, which joined the GPP2020 Consortium at the beginning of the year.
The course was attended by 18 people, procurement department officers from the regional administration together with representatives of the Environment, IT, Human Resources and Health sectors.
Participants highly appreciated the practical approach of the training activities. During the first session (10th March), after an introduction of the policy and legal framework of green and low carbon procurement, a simulation was carried out to help participants define a strategy for reinforcing green procurement practices already in place.
The second session (11th March) focused on the conversion of procurement procedures from “traditional” ones to “green” and “low carbon” ones. Trainees, divided in working groups, analysed case studies on IT (printing systems), furniture and consumables for printers.
